The Corpus Christi Association of REALTORS® works through its Governmental Affairs Committee and Staff to create positive change that supports the work of real estate professionals and the consumers they serve by seeking to:
- Protect private property rights
- Assist in the passage of legislation that positively affects private property rights and conversely assist in defeating legislation that negatively affects private property rights on the state and national level
- Work with local officials on issues that impact the community as it pertains to business, growth, development and private property rights
- Assist in electing officials on the local, state and national level who have a similar pro-business philosophy
We probably don’t talk about it enough, but as REALTORS® we owe a great deal of gratitude to our national, state and local REALTOR® Association’s legislative and legal defense activities. The volunteer Governmental Affairs Committees at the local, state and national levels make a huge contribution on behalf of all the REALTOR® membership. In addition, the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) at the national level and the Texas Association of REALTOR® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) at the state and local levels make significant annual contributions to these efforts. So, remember to not only tip your hat to their efforts, but also to get involved and be a part of the process and the outcomes that affect, you, your business and private property rights.
